Gilles Peterson’s Havana Cultura Band : Havana Club Rumba Sessions

Only one month flew by since the release of Havana Club Rumba Sessions by the dj, record collector and brownswood maestro Gilles Peterson.

The cuban music has its roots in numerous other countries such as in Africa, Congo and Carabalí. Gilles Peterson, with a global idea, converged to those roots, met up with experienced and esteemed rumba musicians also known as rumberos and recorded what is essential in the rumba music. The three rumba key styles or the three rhythms were recorded along with the significance of each and those authentic sounds were handed to a pack of extremely talented producers throughout the world.

The incredible basslines from Motor City Drum Ensemble [Germany], the easy dwelling into the art of Daisuke Tanabe & Yosi Horikawa [Japan], these thump beats from the british based artists; Al Dobson Jr along with Mo Kolours and Reginald Omas Mamode IV…oh my, are we christmas yet?. Also featuring Max Graef, Glenn Astro, Poirer and other great producers.

Hear how the sound of the Clave and the rhythm of Guaguancó has merged up with the electronic movement of today on this latest issue by Gilles Peterson in collaboration with the Havana Club. A feature length documentary and a free sample pack is also proposed on this project.

Order on Bandcamp, with just a click, and let the world know what you think ’bout it.
