Words by Sally McVeay
Time is quite ruthless. Situations, things and people you get used to just change. I did my best to live life to the fullest, in the sense of making that constant effort of being attentive to the life happening. Yet, life remains brief and time feels like a thief.
I do not know much about Lauren Auder, except for this track called ‘in god’s childlike hands’, and this just strongly feels like an ode to the passing of time. There’s a softness to it, something aching and reverent, like trying to hold water in your palms.
Time doesn’t ask for permission. It moves, regardless. All we can do is move with it, hoping to catch glimpses of meaning in the flow.
